This recipe for Chicken with Tahini Sauce started off as no more than 2 sentences of notes, often when I get an idea or inspiration for a recipe I’ll often jot down some notes, mainly flavours I think would go well together, and then come back to it later to test and construct the recipe.
This Chicken with Tahini Sauce is a really simple and easy one, but even I didn’t realise just how nice it would taste! I absolutely LOVE this Chicken with Tahini Sauce, both because it was so quick and easy and because of how tasty it turned out. For those that can’t or don’t do dairy, this is a great option because you get a delicious creamy sauce, without any actual cream. I’m starting to love using coconut cream as a dairy alternative more and more and have been experimenting with it a lot.
Tahini is another flavour I love to use and one I think is highly underrated, especially for keto and low carb. It acts similarly to a nut butter and is high in healthy fats, but has a much lower carb count than a nut butter, so that it can be used easily in many recipes while still keeping the carbs low. It’s perfect to use for this Chicken in Tahini Sauce, but if you don’t like tahini you can sub in a nut butter instead, just note the carb count as it will be higher!
Keto Chicken with Tahini Sauce
Equipment
- Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts, cut in half lengthways
- 100 g mixed salad leaves
- 1 avocado, sliced
Creamy Tahini Sauce
- 2 tbsp tahini
- ½ cup coconut cream, the liquid
- 1 tbsp coconut cream, the solid fat
- ½ lemon, the juice
- 3 tbsp parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- salt
- pepper
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper and then pan fry, grill, bbq or cook in an air fryer for approximately 8 minutes each side or until cooked through.
- Take all sauce ingredients except for parsley and blitz in a food chopper or similar until smooth and combined. Taste and adjust salt and pepper if needed. Add in chopped parsley and mix through with a spoon.
- Serve chicken with salad and avocado and top with your tahini sauce.
