This Avocado Chocolate Mousse was made because I love chocolate mousse and had a ton of avocados in the fridge to use up! I’d heard of chocolate desserts made with avocado but had only tried a cookie one that I really didn’t like. I didn’t want to use sugar free maple syrup in chocolate avocado recipes because I don’t really like the taste, not to mention the artificial sweeteners. And the alternatives like Sukrin Gold Fibre Syrup and the Lakanto syrup are great, but also expensive!
So I wanted to keep things as simple as possible. I just sort of winged this one and fortunately everyone loved it! My sister found it a bit dark so I added more sweetener for her, but I preferred the darker taste myself. Add your sweetener to taste so you get a level of sweetness that suits you!
These are whipped up quickly and are a great way of using up extra avocadoes, especially if they’ve started to go a bit dark. I piped mine into the glasses to make it look nice, but you can just spoon it in and use any container you like.
Avocado Chocolate Mousse
Ingredients
- 2 avocadoes
- 4 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tbsp sweetener
Instructions
- Halve the avocadoes, remove the stone and scoop out the flesh into a bowl. Mash with a stick mixer or similar until smooth with no lumps.
- Add cocoa powder, vanilla and sweetener. Mix with a spoon first to incorporate the cocoa powder so it doesn’t fly everywhere and then finish off with the stick mixer to get a really smooth consistency.
- Add almond milk and mix to combine. Spoon or pipe into glasses, containers etc. Refrigerate until chilled or overnight.

Is 11.9g net carbs?

No those are total. If you look further down at the bottom of the nutritional info you should see net carbs which I think were less than 4g.
