This White Sauce is great because it’s super easy, simple and quick to make and can be used as a base for so many things. I use it as a standard white sauce, cheese sauce, béchamel, pizza sauce etc.
It’s also made using pretty much just cream and cream cheese so there’s plenty of healthy fat to keep you full and satisfied and lots of room to add flavourings to suit whatever dish you want to pair it with. It also means there are no flour subs at all in this White Sauce making it nice and low in carbs!
White Sauce
Ingredients
- 250 g cream cheese
- 1/2 cup thickened cream/heavy whipping cream
- salt
- pepper
Instructions
- Heat cream cheese and cream in a small pot over low heat whisking frequently until heated and cream cheese is melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper.Add any chosen flavourings depending on what dish you’re using the sauce for.
