Celery is a vegetable that is very low in carbs but that I realised I haven’t ever really seen a good side dish of. I suspected the reason was that celery can have a very strong taste which I know a lot of people don’t like. I like celery cooked or raw but mixed in with other things like in salad, soups, stews etc. But celery on its own I’m not a big fan of!
I thought though that if there was a way to flavour the celery well it could make a great low carb side, so I tried out this dish and I have to say I loved it! I actually ate this celery on its own off the plate with my fingers. It still has that nice celery crunch and taste but is flavoured enough with the tamari that the celery taste isn’t overpowering. This would make a great side for all different kinds of protein especially chicken or fish!
