Japanese food is one of my favourite cuisines and Yakitori Chicken which I used to buy all the time, was something I thought I’d never eat again! But after experimenting in several recipes with stevia glycerite, I have used it here to create a low carb version of this Japanese classic!
Yakitori Chicken is an incredibly simple recipe and with a few subs you can have a very low carb version of it that also happens to be very easy on the wallet too.
Yakitori Chicken
Ingredients
- 6 chicken thigh fillets, cut into cubes
- ¾ cup tamari soy sauce
- ½ cup dry white wine
- 10 drops stevia glycerite can sub regular stevia drops
- 1 tbsp sweetener
Instructions
- Combine tamari, wine, stevia and sweetener in a small pot, stir to dissolve the sweetener. Bring to the boil then simmer until reduced and thickened.
- Thread chicken onto skewers. Place under the grill and brush well with the marinade. Keep occasionally turning and basting the chicken with the marinade until cooked and nicely coloured.
